Outback Bowl Halftime Show
One of the highlights of the Outback Bowl each New Year's Day is the fabulous Outback Bowl Halftime Show, featuring up to 5,000 young people from throughout the United States.
The show includes performances by the college bands and dance teams of the two schools participating in the bowl game, followed by up to thirty high school bands from across the nation performing as one massed band. These bands also frame hundreds of dancers who perform colorful routines to the music.
The bowl also recognizes U.S. Marines who have made exceptional contributions in the service of this country. In the end, the entire field is filled with color and sounds that exhilarates the crowd of 65,000 fans.
For the high school bands this show is the culmination of four days of performances and competitions that include marching in the Outback Bowl Parade on New Year's Eve. The dance teams also have a competition at Busch Gardens theme park during the week.
