Tim Love to Chair 2019-20 Outback Bowl

Tampa, FL -- The Outback Bowl has announced Tim Love, President/CEO of Alltrust Insurance, has been elected to the post of Chairman of the Board of Directors of the popular New Year's Day college bowl game located in Tampa. Love has been a long-time volunteer with the Outback Bowl and on the Board of Directors since 1999.

"I am extremely proud to represent this year's Outback Bowl on New Year's Day," stated Love. "The impact on our local economy coupled with a great fan experience makes this the premier sporting event in Tampa Bay. Tampa Bay is the ultimate New Year's destination and our impact on the local economy greatly exceeds $1 billion dollars. We have also contributed over $1 million dollars to local charities over the past three years and have paid the universities more than $149 million. I am proud to Chair an organization that makes such a significant impact on our local economy, charities and the participating universities."

Additional officers elected by the board for the 2019-20 bowl include: Rita Lowman, President of Pilot Bank, as Vice Chair, R. Troy Atlas, President, Stonehill, as Vice Chair of Pinellas County; Chris Roederer, Senior Vice President - Human Resources, Tampa General Hospital, as Vice Chair Hillsborough County;. Greg Orchard, former CFO of Visit Tampa Bay, as Treasurer; and Todd Buchanan, Senior Vice President, VALIC Financial Advisors, as Secretary.

In addition, two new members were added to the Outback Bowl Board of Directors - Cheryl Kleiman, Regional Vice President of Sales at Flexential, and Kyle Burd, Senior Vice President and Managing Director - Tampa for Cousins Properties were each elected to the board.

The Outback Bowl, featuring teams from the Big Ten Conference and Southeastern Conference, is played in Raymond James Stadium and will celebrate its 34th game on January 1, 2020. Over its history it has brought more than a million out of market visitors to the region while creating an estimated $1 billion in economic impact and distributing $149 million to universities.
