Record 33 Outback Bowl Alumni Selected in NFL Draft

Tampa, FL -- Over its 34-year history the Outback Bowl hasplayed host to some of the best college football players in the sport. This year's NFL draft featured a record thirty-three(33) players that have played in recent Outback Bowl games, including elevenfrom the 2020 game and five first-round picks.

Three of the players were drafted by the Tampa BayBuccaneers including No. 13 pick Tristan Wirfs from Iowa who played in the 2019Outback Bowl, and teammates Antoine Winfield Jr. and Tyler Johnson of Minnesotawho played in the 2020 bowl. Johnson wasMVP of the game.

In addition to the 33 players drafted, another 20 players havesigned Un-drafted Free Agent contracts with NFL teams.

To date, at least 987 alumni of the bowl, including 112first-round picks, have gone on to the NFL over the history of the bowl game.
