The Outback Bowl has announced
Ken Hoverman, Vice President-Growth Organization, United Healthcare Employer and Individual, has been elected to the post of Chairman of the Board of Directors of the popular New Year’s Day college bowl game located in Tampa. Hoverman has been an officer on the Board of Directors since 2007.
In addition, four new members were named to the Outback Bowl Board of Directors to include: Tracie Domino, Provider Relations Liaison, Laser Spine Institute; Lynn Dumais, Vice President Financial Reporting, MetLife; Rita Lowman, Chief Operating Officer & EVP, C1 Bank; and Bob Murray, Operating Partner General Manager, Mercedes Benz of Tampa.

Talk about excitement! The 2013 edition of the Outback Bowl had it all. Big plays? How about a 56-yard scoring strike within the game's first two minutes. High drama? The Outback Bowl featured four lead changes in the fourth quarter, with the game decided inside the last minute as the South Carolina Gamecocks took control with 11 seconds remaining to win an exciting contest at Raymond James Stadium. Ringing In The New Year With The Outback Bowl
Tampa's Historic District, Ybor City, served as the site of the Ybor Band Blast parade and pep rally on New Year's Eve. The Parade included the Michigan and South Carolina marching bands and cheerleaders and 18 high school bands. Later Channelside hosted "Light Up Tampa Bay" including live entertainment and a midnight Fireworks Show.

Fun and Sun at Clearwater Beach Day
Michigan and South Carolina players joined their fans on beautiful Clearwater Beach Sunday afternoon. Both schools’ cheerleaders and marching bands performed right on the beach and the cheerleaders competed in a tug-of-war contest. There was also a pie eating contest.
