Outback Bowl Renews Radio ContractsOctober 06, 1998Tampa, FL - Outback Bowl officials have renewed their radio network agreements which should result in more than 200 stations broadcasting the popular New Year's Day college bowl game from Raymond James Stadium. Newsradio 970 WFLA will broadcast the bowl throughout the Tampa Bay market while Radio Sports Creations will feed the game to more than 100 affiliates nationwide. The game will also be carried by both participating college radio networks. WFLA has been broadcasting the bowl since the 1989 game. The veteran AM Tampa Bay morning team of Jack Harris and Tedd Webb, with more than 60 years of broadcasting experience between them, will team-up in the booth to call the game action. Radio Sports Creations will broadcast the game for the fourth consecutive year. Now in it's thirteenth year, the game will match teams from the SEC and Big Ten Conferences. Last year's game pitted Georgia against Wisconsin. The previous two games matched Alabama vs. Michigan, and Penn State vs. Auburn.
