Outback Bowl Teams, Fans to "Hit The Beach"

Clearwater Beach, FL -- Hold on to your beach umbrella. There's going to be an invasion on Clearwater Beach as the Michigan and Florida football teams take part in one of their favorite events, "Outback Bowl Beach Day" on Sunday, December 29 at the Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort.

Thousands of fans and locals are expected to turnout at Clearwater Beach for the annual event, part of the Outback Bowl week of festivities which culminates with the big football game on New Year's Day.

Fans will get to meet players and coaches from both teams. They'll also get to see the marching bands and cheerleaders from both schools perform right on the beach. Skydivers, a tug-of-war and even an key lime pie-eating contest are scheduled as well along with a flyover by the Red Baron Squadron and a huge Outback Bowl Sandcastle.

The event is sponsored by the St Petersburg/Clearwater Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, The Hilton and 93.3 FLZ FM and begins at 11 A.M. and lasts until about 4 P.M. Parking is somewhat limited so fans are encouraged to arrive early.
