Red Baron ®Frozen Pizza Steps-Up SponsorshipJune 25, 2002Tampa, FL -- Red Baron ®Frozen Pizza has renewed it's sponsorship of the Outback Bowl and increased it's involvement to become an Official Game Sponsor of the New Year's Day college football game for the next three years. The agreement includes name sponsorship of the Red Baron ®Frozen Pizza Pregame Show and a number of exposure and hospitality elements. "We are very excited about the Outback Bowl and feel it's one of the best sporting events in the country" said Tom Faulk, Consumer Promotion Manager for Schwan's Consumer Brands of North America. "We had a great experience with the game last year and wanted to do even more with this prestigious bowl." "We are pleased to have Red Baron continue as a part of the Outback Bowl sponsorship family," noted Jim McVay, President / CEO of the bowl. "They are great partners and they do a wonderful job of activating their sponsorship. We look forward to expanding our relationship." Red Baron ®Frozen Pizza, consistently ranked as one of the top two frozen pizzas in the industry, is produced by Schwan's Consumer Brands North America, a division of Schwan's Sales Enterprises, Inc., a privately held company based in Marshall, Minnesota. It's brands, including Red Baron, are represented in more than 32,000 retail outlets across the United States. In 2001 alone, Red Baron sold more than 98 million pizzas according to AC Nielsen. The Outback Bowl is celebrating it's 17th anniversary in Tampa Bay and last fall extended it’s contracts with title sponsor Outback Steakhouse, ESPN TV, the SEC and Big Ten through the 2006 game.
