Kerrigan Elected To Chair 2012-13 Outback Bowl

Tampa, FL -- The Board of Directors of the Outback Bowl announced Mike Kerrigan, Account Executive, WTOG-CW 44 TV, has been elected to the post of Chairman, for a one year term, of the popular New Year’s Day college bowl game located in Tampa. Kerrigan has been involved with the bowl for 25 years and has served on the bowls Board of Directors since 2002.

“It is my honor and pleasure to serve as this year’s Chairman of the Outback Bowl” states Kerrigan. “Over the years it has been amazing to watch the Outback Bowl grow to become one of the premiere bowl games in the country and provide the Tampa Bay area with tremendous economic impact. I am confident that under the leadership of President and CEO Jim McVay and his staff, the Outback Bowl is well positioned for continued success.”

Additional officers elected by the board for the 2012-13 bowl include: Ken Hoverman, Vice President of Marketing, UnitedHealthcare, as Vice Chairman; Bernie O’Brien, owner of O’Brien’s Irish Pub, as Vice Chair of Hillsborough County; Kevin Smith, Director of the St Petersburg / Clearwater Sports Commission, as Vice Chair of Pinellas County; Mitch Shriber, CFP, Financial Consultant, AXA Advisors, LLC, as Secretary; and Bill Cammarata, Senior Vice President, MetLife, as Treasurer.

The Outback Bowl played in Raymond James Stadium will celebrate its 27th game this season. The game will kick off at 1:00 PM ET January 1, 2012 on ABC TV and features teams from the Big Ten Conference and Southeastern Conference.
