Bowl Names Chairman, Officers for 2006-07 Bowl

The Board of Directors of the Outback Bowl announced the election of its Chairman and officers for the 2006-2007 year. Steve Schember, Senior Litigation Partner, Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, has been elected to the post of Chairman, for a one year term, of the popular college bowl game located in Tampa.

Schember has been a supporter of the bowl since it’s beginning and has served on the board of directors since 1995. He is also a former chairman of the bowls Team Selection Committee.

“It is truly an honor to have been selected Chairman of the Outback Bowl,” stated Schember. “It has been my pleasure to play a small part in the growth of the bowl over the past 20 years into one of the elite New Year’s Day bowl games. While my predecessors have set very high standards, I know that with the help of our sponsors, volunteers, staff and the Tampa Bay Community, we can become even better in the years to come.”

Additional officers elected by the board for the 2006-07 bowl include: Bernie OBrien, owner of O'Brien's Irish Pub, as Vice Chairman; Gwen Mitchell, Managing Partner- North Florida Practice, Deloitte, as Vice Chair of Hillsborough County; Mitchell A. Shriber, CFP, Financial Consultant, AXA Advisors, LLC as Vice Chair of Pinellas County; Mike Sugar, President and Founder of Forcon International Corp., as Secretary; and Glen Shamblen, President of Aladdin Coatings, as Treasurer.
