Spartans Outlast Bulldogs in Triple Overtime Thriller

The Michigan State Spartans celebrate a win over the Georgia Bulldogs in the Outback Bowl.
In only the third time in college bowl history the 2012 Outback Bowl went to three overtime periods. In the third extra period, Michigan State pulled ahead of Georgia 33-30. Georgia then attempted a field goal to tie, but the 47-yard attempt was blocked at the line. The Outback Bowl headed into overtime after Michigan State scored a 1-yard touchdown with 0:19 left in the game. The score came from Le'Veon Bell, and capped off an exciting 85-yard, 10-play drive. Ringing In The New Year With The Outback Bowl

Tampa's Historic District, Ybor City, served as the site of the UnitedHealthcare Children's Foundation Parade and a pep rally on New Year's Eve. The Parade included the Georgia and Michigan State marching bands and cheerleaders. Later Channelside hosted "Light Up Tampa Bay" including live entertainment and a midnight Fireworks Show. Fun and Sun at Clearwater Beach Day

Georgia and Michigan State players joined their fans on beautiful Clearwater Beach Friday afternoon. Both schools’ cheerleaders and marching bands performed right on the beach and the cheerleaders competed in a tug-of-war contest. There were also skydivers and a pie eating contest. Fun and Games at Splitsville

Both teams participated in the DeBartolo Team Luncheon on Thursday then after practice they enjoyed some fun and games at Splitsville at Channelside. The Bulldogs and Spartans were treated to pizza, burgers and chicken tenders before rolling a few frames and mingling with fans. Bulldogs and Spartans Get Wild at Busch Gardens

Both teams joined their fans at Busch Gardens Wednesday for an up-close look at wild animals, and some wild rides as well. The theme park has some of the best and largest roller coasters in the world mixed with amazing animal exhibits. Bulldogs, Spartans Get Taste of Tampa Bay With Outback Steakhouse Welcome Dinner

Georgia and Michigan State players and official parties were treated to a special welcome dinner by Outback Steakhouse Monday night. The teams devoured more than 4,500lbs of food including 750 lbs of wood fired ribeye, 750lbs of chicken, 900 lbs of ribs and 160 bloomin' onions.
