Outback Bowl Unveils 30th Anniversary Logo

February 26, 2015

Tampa, FL - Outback Bowl officials today unveiled a commemorative logo that will be used over the next ten months as the popular college football bowl celebrates its 30th Anniversary game in Tampa. The New Year's Day Bowl matches teams from the SEC and Big Ten Conference. It was first played in December of 1986 as the Hall of Fame Bowl and later became the Outback Bowl with the signing of Outback Steakhouse as its title sponsor in 1995.

"We are proud to announce that this year's game will be the thirty year anniversary of the Outback Bowl in the Tampa Bay community," said Outback Bowl President / CEO Jim McVay. "Our commemorative anniversary logo is a great reminder of the many contributions the Outback Bowl has made to our region over three decades including over one billion dollars in economic impact, hundreds-of-millions in national and international exposure, and one hundred twenty-three million dollars contributed to universities. And we are properly positioned with our agreements with the SEC and Big Ten conferences, our twenty year title sponsor Outback Steakhouse, and our network TV partner ESPN to continue to make significant contributions to the Tampa Bay area as we move forward."

The Outback Bowl will be held on Friday, January 1, 2016 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. For information on ordering priority membership seats for the 2016 Outback Bowl call (813) 874-BOWL or go to the "Ticket Packages" link on the bowl web site at www.outbackbowl.com for details.
