Pratico Named Chair of 2016-17 Outback Bowl
Tampa, FL -- The Outback Bowl has announced Steven Pratico, Partner at Barnett Bolt Kirkwood Long & Koche, P.A, has been elected to the post of Chairman of the Board of Directors of the popular New Year's Day college bowl game located in Tampa. Pratico has been a volunteer with the Outback Bowl since 2002 and on the Board of Directors since 2010, including as a former chair of the bowls Team Selection Committee.
"I am honored to be the 2016 Chairman of the Outback Bowl," states Pratico. "For more than 30 years the Outback Bowl has showcased Tampa Bay and created an annual economic impact that is unrivaled in the region by putting on one of college football's premier bowl games. Additional officers elected by the board for the 2016-17 bowl include: Todd Buchanan, Senior Vice President, VALIC Financial Advisors, as Vice Chair; Todd Timmerman, Partner at Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, as Vice Chair of Pinellas County; Tim Love, President - Employee Benefits, Hub International Southeast, as Vice Chair of Hillsborough County; Greg Orchard, CFO of Visit Tampa Bay, as Treasurer; and R. Troy Atlas, Senior Vice President, Investments, Manager Metro Tampa Branches, Raymond James, as Secretary.
New members elected to the Board of Directors include: Chris Roederer, Sr. Vice President, Human Resources, Tampa General Hospital; and Pete Wu, General Manager, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa.
The Outback Bowl is played in Raymond James Stadium and will celebrate its 31st game this season. Over its history it has brought more than a million out of market visitors to the region while creating an estimated $1 billion in economic impact and distributing over $130 million to universities. The game will be played January 2, 2017 featuring teams from the Big Ten Conference and Southeastern Conference.
