Outback Bowl officials have confirmed that their 2017 game will be played on Monday, January 2nd along with the other traditional New Year's Day bowls. The game will also move its kickoff time back to 1:00 PM ET and be televised on ABC. The Outback Bowl, which celebrated its 30th Anniversary last season, hosts teams from the Big Ten Conference and Southeastern Conference at Raymond James Stadium.
Historically whenever January 1st falls on a Sunday the traditional New Year's Day bowls are played on January 2nd. This same situation arose in January 1989, 1995, 2006 and 2012. The Outback Bowl will return to the January 1st date for the 2018 game.
